Barry County Historical Society


Barry County Historical Society does not operate a museum but does aid in the discovery and preservation of all historical materials connected or associated with Barry County. In 2020, the Society will present programs at the Hastings Public Library, 227 E State St., Hastings MI at 6 PM. April 1 – Tips and Tidbits to Help Genealogists with Sue Irvine. May 6 – Dolls and History of Dolls with Jenny Sykes. June 3 – Share Your Stories of Picnics, Reunions and Threshing Parties. August 5 – History of Barry County Fairs. October 7 – Flintknapper by Mike Cook. November 4 – The Lives of the Barry County Indians.

Iron Rails Model Railroad Club 
The Iron Rails Model Railroad Club does not operate a museum, but it has a goal to preserve local history of the Railroad in Barry County. The Club meets every Friday at 10:30 am in the Commission on Aging Building, 320 Woodlawn Ave., Hastings MI 49058. Members of the club have a Speaker’s Bureau and will speak on the local history of the Railroad.
