Rockford Area Museum

Designed to be very family friendly, there are interactive displays for kids that educate and entertain. Plenty of great artifacts tell the story of the entire Rockford area’s history. Artfully combined with bold graphics that include a “forest” where kids can play and parents can relax, the new RAM sets a unique standard of excellence for small city museums. A presentation area shows videos of historic significance, including moments in Rockford’s history from as long ago as the 1930’s as well as more recent events like the Rockford Band’s appearance in the 1986 Rose Parade. Research assistance is available by appointment. There is no charge for admission to the RAM, services, tours, or outside presentations.
